The Birth of Prodigal Sun Radio.

Pt 1.

Prodigal Sun Radio began as a feeling in the heart of a young man who used to travel from Walsall to Wolverhampton in the UK to DJ on a pirate radio station.

"I'll admit to being pretty clueless at the time." Mkuu Amani will tell you today. Which attests to him being willing to risk his liberty to make the journey for an illegal radio show that started at 9pm and ended after the last bus back to Walsall had long gone.

In those days there were few CDs. Vinyl was king and transporting records and broadcasting equipment around required some management skills at least. However, the absence of such skills was never going to be enough to stop the Antonio Jazz and Huey Blues Show airing on Skyline Radio.

Pirate radio was never going to last. The authorities were never going to allow it. So, although Skyline Radio continues to this day, the precarious nature of its existence during the 80s and 90s would prove influential - and subsequently, after around 10 shows Amani's broadcasting days in the pirate radio world would come to an end.

But what of radio and his love and intrigue for it?
